UNCW Marine Quest SUP

We pride ourselves teaching all facets of being in the Ocean and Inter-coastal Waterways.  One of the great advantages to our camps is you get to experience all kinds of ecosystems through surfing.  On this day we take our surfers and bring them into the Kure Beach basin to learn Stand Up Paddling, the importance of protecting our ecosystems, how fragile they are, and of course what is in them.  As you can see everyone has a great time including the instructors.  We are truly fortunate to have such wonderful resources locally to use.   Clay Marzo a professional surfer put it best when he said “the ocean is my playground”.  Well we feel the same and that means we need to protect and conserve that ecosystem.  That starts with educating our youth about it.  Next time you are out visiting Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Oak Island, Topsail Island, Masanboro Island or anywhere that you love keep it clean.  We have many local organizations like Ocean Cure and Cape Fear Surfrider who pride themselves on this!
